Human Rights Watch
To complement its report documenting police officers’ use of condoms to arrest transgender sex workers in cities across the U.S., Human Rights Watch hired Maracuya Productions to conduct and record interviews in Jackson Heights, Queens, with transgender Latinas impacted by the issue.
Jamaicans for Justice
As a 2010 UC Berkeley Human Rights Center Fellow, Madeleine Bair spent three months in Kingston documenting extrajudicial killings for the leading Jamaican human rights organization, Jamaicans for Justice. The three-part series has been screened to audiences of hundreds in Jamaica, and the story of Paulette Wellington, whose son was killed while in government custody, was presented as part of JFJ’s 2011 presentation to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.
